Billing Model: Prepaid Fixed-Period

ClearTrack Tracking API operates on a transparent, prepaid fixed-period billing model with no auto-debit mandates, card authorizations, or surprise overage fees:

Unit of Consumption: Quota is metered strictly in lookups. Every tracking API call (including cached responses) consumes exactly 1 lookup. Quotas are never measured in shipments.
Fixed Validity: Each plan provisions access for a defined validity window (14 days for free trial, 30 days for standard plans).
Zero Auto-Mandates: You receive an email notification before expiry with a payment link to renew your plan. Subscriptions never automatically bill your credit card.

Rate Limit Exceeded Handling

When limits are reached, the API returns standard HTTP status codes:

429 rate_limit_exceeded: Per-second burst limit exceeded. Back off requests with a small random delay.
429 plan_quota_exceeded: Period lookup limit reached. You can renew your plan to reset your lookup count immediately.
402 payment_required: The validity period has ended. Renewing restores access instantly.
