ClearTrack API Terms of Service

Effective Date: October 2026 • Version: 1.0 (API Surface)

1. Scope and Acceptance

These API Terms of Service ("API Terms") govern your access to and programmatic use of the ClearTrack Courier Tracking API (the "API" or "Service"), hosted at api.cleartrackpromise.in and related subdomains, provided by ClearTrack ("ClearTrack", "we", "us", or "our").

By generating an API key, integrating the API into your software, or making requests to the API endpoints, you ("Customer", "Developer", or "you") agree to be legally bound by these API Terms. If you are entering into these terms on behalf of a company or legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity.

2. Description of the Service

The API aggregates, normalizes, and delivers parcel transit tracking data, delivery milestone timestamps, delivery attempt diagnostics, and computed logistics insights across supported courier networks in India (e.g., Delhivery, Blue Dart, India Post, Speed Post, Ekart Logistics, Xpressbees, Shadowfax, Trackon, Shree Maruti Courier, The Professional Couriers, and Shiprocket).

3. Courier Independence & Non-Affiliation Disclaimer

Important Notice: ClearTrack is an independent technology provider. ClearTrack is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or an authorized agent of any courier company, postal entity, or freight operator, including but not limited to Delhivery, Blue Dart Express, India Post, Ekart, Xpressbees, DTDC, or Shadowfax. All courier names, logos, service marks, and registered trademarks belong strictly to their respective owners.

4. API Keys & Security Obligations

  • Confidentiality: Your API key (prefixed with ct_live_) is confidential authentication credential equivalent to a password. You are strictly responsible for maintaining its security.
  • Client-Side Prohibition: You must never expose or embed your API key in publicly accessible client-side environments (such as web browser frontend JavaScript, mobile app client bundles, public GitHub repositories, or untrusted third-party scripts). All API calls must originate from your secure backend servers.
  • No Credential Sharing: API keys may not be shared, sublicensed, leased, or assigned across unrelated organizations without express written consent from ClearTrack.
  • Revocation & Suspension: ClearTrack reserves the right to immediately suspend or permanently revoke your API key without notice if we detect suspicious access patterns, credential compromise, abuse, or violation of these Terms.

5. Plans, Quotas & Rate Limits

The API operates strictly on a prepaid fixed-period model (no recurring auto-debit mandates and no unexpected overage bills):

  • Free Trial: 100 lookups valid for 14 calendar days from generation (100 daily cap, 5 req/sec burst limit). One trial key per organization/developer.
  • Starter Plan: ₹399 for 1,500 lookups valid for 30 calendar days (300 daily cap, 5 req/sec burst limit).
  • Growth Plan: ₹999 for 4,000 lookups valid for 30 calendar days (800 daily cap, 10 req/sec burst limit).
  • Business Plan: ₹3,000 for 12,000 lookups valid for 30 calendar days (2,400 daily cap, 20 req/sec burst limit).

Hard Quota Enforcement: Every API call to /v1/track/:carrier/:awb counts as one lookup (including cache hits). When your prepaid period lookup allowance is exhausted, or when you exceed burst rate limits or daily safety limits, the API returns HTTP 429 (Too Many Requests) with a machine-readable error code (plan_quota_exceeded, daily_quota_exceeded, or rate_limit_exceeded).

No Quota Rollover: Unused lookups do not roll over across subscription periods. Any unconsumed lookup quota expires at the end of the active 30-day (or 14-day) validity period.

6. Payment, Invoicing & Refund Policy

All plan fees are denominated in Indian Rupees (INR) and are payable upfront prior to key provisioning or plan extension via our authorized payment partner (Razorpay).

Refund Policy: Because API keys provide immediate access to upstream carrier data queries, bandwidth, and infrastructure resources, payments are non-refundable once API lookups have commenced or after 48 hours of invoice payment, whichever occurs first. If you experience verifiable technical issues preventing service access during your active billing period, please contact support at support@cleartrackai.in for manual review.

7. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree not to use the ClearTrack API for any improper, unauthorized, or abusive purpose. Specifically, you agree NOT to:

  • Reselling / Competing Service: Resell, redistribute, sub-license, or syndicate raw ClearTrack tracking payloads to create a direct competing multi-carrier tracking API or commercial data broker service.
  • Rate Limit Bypass: Circumvent, tamper with, or bypass rate limits, daily caps, caching rules, or security mechanisms, including via key rotation or distributed proxy scraping.
  • Legitimate Interest Requirement: Query consignment numbers (AWBs) for packages where you or your end-users have no legitimate commercial, logistics, or recipient interest (e.g., automated brute-force AWB enumeration or unauthorized intelligence harvesting).
  • System Disruption: Overload, flood, or launch denial-of-service attempts against our infrastructure or any upstream courier service.
  • Lawful Compliance: Use the API in violation of any applicable local, state, national, or international law, regulation, or privacy directive.

8. Service Availability, Caching & Upstream Outages

  • Best-Effort Availability: We provide the API on a commercially reasonable, best-effort basis without guaranteed uptime Service Level Agreements (SLAs). Scheduled maintenance and critical security patches may result in brief service windows.
  • Caching Windows: To ensure fast response times and prevent upstream carrier IP blocking, in-transit consignments are cached for up to 30 minutes. Terminal shipments (delivered, returned, cancelled) are cached indefinitely. Consignments not found upstream (404) are cached for 15 minutes.
  • Stale Response Fallback: If an upstream courier portal experiences downtime, network timeouts, or 5xx failures, ClearTrack returns HTTP 200 OK with stale: true and the most recent verified checkpoint state rather than dropping the request. If no prior record exists, HTTP 502 (Bad Gateway) is returned.

9. Data Collection & Privacy

Telemetry Logged: To monitor system abuse, enforce prepaid rate limits, and calculate performance metrics, ClearTrack logs: requested AWB numbers, carrier slugs, request timestamps, response status codes, cache hit/miss indicators, truncated cryptographic hashes of client IP addresses (SHA-256), and HTTP user-agent headers.

PII Stripping: ClearTrack automatically strips consignee personal data (names, contact phone numbers, OTP tokens, and personal street addresses) from status text descriptions before outputting JSON payloads to protect consumer privacy.

For additional details regarding organizational data handling, please refer to our Privacy Policy.

10. Limitation of Liability & Disclaimer of Warranties

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CLEARTRACK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, STATUTORY, OR OTHERWISE, INCLUDING WITHOUT LIMITATION WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

IN NO EVENT SHALL CLEARTRACK OR ITS FOUNDERS, EMPLOYEES, OR SUPPLIERS BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES (INCLUDING LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, SHIPMENTS, REPUTATION, OR BUSINESS INTERRUPTION) ARISING OUT OF OR IN CONNECTION WITH YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE API. CLEARTRACK'S AGGREGATE TOTAL LIABILITY UNDER THESE TERMS SHALL NOT EXCEED THE TOTAL AMOUNT PAID BY YOU TO CLEARTRACK IN THE ONE (1) MONTH IMMEDIATELY PRECEDING THE CLAIM.

11. Termination

You may stop using the API at any time. ClearTrack may terminate or suspend your access, in whole or in part, immediately and without prior notice, if you breach these API Terms, fail to pay required fees, or engage in activity that threatens system integrity or legality.

Sections 2, 3, 6, 7, 10, 12, and 13 shall survive any termination of these Terms.

12. Governing Law & Jurisdiction

These API Terms shall be governed by, interpreted, and construed in accordance with the substantive laws of India, without giving effect to conflict of law principles. Any legal action or dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Delhi / Haryana, India.
